Eagle Eye Sunglasses
The Eagle Eyes uniquely designed broad spectrum lens provides you with a whole new field of view that enhances vision unlike any other pair of glasses on the market. Developed from original NASA optic technology, the lens filters block out 99.9% UVA, UVB and blue-light. The glasses not only protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful radiation, they also enhance your vision and enable you to see more clearly, even in poor weather. Winner of the NASA/Space Foundation Technology Hall of Fame Award.
What makes EAGLE EYES different than other Sunglasses?
Eagle Eyes glasses provide benefits far beyond most ordinary sunglasses. Conventional sunglasses have dark lenses that block much of the useful light we need, without regard for harmful light which we don’t need. Dark lenses also reduce visibility and shadow perception. Eagle Eyes glasses are designed with protective lenses that improve visibility and safety for the eyes, without being dark. This results in superb protection, contrast, clarity and definition. The difference between conventional sunglasses and Eagle Eyes glasses is like night and day.
Eagle Eyes and Night Vision
Daytime use of Eagle Eyes glasses enhances dark adaptation and night and day vision. After removing Eagle Eyes lenses upon entering a theater or parking garage from the bright daylight, you will find that you can see objects almost immediately. Instead of feeling blind for several minutes, you will be able to see detail in the shadows without waiting for your eyes to adjust. This benefit may be of particular importance to those involved in night activities such as aviators, search and rescue teams, night drivers, astronomers, etc.
The Eagle Eyes glasses are designed with a patented polarized lens system which includes contrast filtration and inner/outer scratch-resistant coatings. Available in a variety of styles and models, they are fashionable and functional. Clip-ons are available to fit on top of existing prescription glasses. Eagle Eyes lenses are made from polycarbonate and a material known as tri-acetate cellulose.
The Eagle Eye glasses were developed when NASA Scientists and Engineers began researching ways to protect the eyes of astronauts while they worked in space. Their studies revealed that the eyes of eagles and other birds of prey contain special oil droplets that selectively filter out harmful light; while allowing in other light rays. This explains why these precise hunters can distinguish small prey even from miles away. This same selective- filtering capability was duplicated into what is now known as Eagle Eyes TriLenium Lens Technology.
What is UV and Blue-Light?
UV light is the part of the sun’s invisible wavelength spectrum which ranges from 380-200nm (nanometer) and is divided into UVA, UVB and UVC. UVC is filtered out by the earth’s ozone layer; however, UVA and UVB have been shown to be harmful to human health. Blue-Light is the light with wavelengths in the 500- 381nm range. Advanced studies now indicate that the retina strongly absorbs blue-light rays and may be a major factor in the destruction of photoreceptor cells, which in turn, can lead to vision loss. Unfortunately, most individuals realize this too late in life, and only when their vision starts to diminish.
